A propos de la photogéographie

La photogéographie ? Une vision photographique du monde tout autant qu’une géographie en images. Des instantanés d’espaces vécus et d’espaces perçus, à la fois art, science et technique. Où les pas et le regard du géographe guident ceux du photographe et où la vision du photographe exprime et exacerbe celle du géographe. Marcel Proust estimait que "Le véritable voyage de découverte ne consiste pas à chercher de nouveaux paysages, mais à avoir de nouveaux yeux." Edward Weston, lui, demandait: "L’appareil photo voit plus que l’œil, alors pourquoi ne pas s’en servir ?".

About photogeography

Photogeography? A photographic view of the world as much as a geography in images. Snapshots of lived spaces and of perceived spaces, at once art, science, and technique. Where the pace and the gaze of the geographer guide those of the photographer and where the vision of the photographer expresses and exalts that of the geographer. Marcel Proust thought that "The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes." As for Edward Weston, he wondered: "The camera sees more than the eye, so why not make use of it?".
